Today was hot dogs, beans, bread, and cake for lunch.
In here as well as the free world, your reputation is everything. Your reputation could open doors for you that don’t exist for other people. These days I think people get the words clout and reputation confused.
Clout is borrowed attention from people who don’t know you. Clout is loud, it’s fast, and it feels good in the moment, but it has no foundation. It’s important to understand because clout isn’t based on anything. It has been mistaken for real power, and that confusion is costing people their future, because that clout disappears the second something more interesting or entertaining comes along.
Reputation is different. Reputation is what people say about you when you’re not in the room. Reputation is built slowly. It’s built by how you treat people, whether you keep your word or not, whether you show up when it counts. Like I said earlier, a strong reputation opens doors that no amount of followers could ever, because your reputation equals trust, and trust is a real currency in any room that matters.
The clout chaser spends their energy performing for an audience. The person building a reputation spends their energy delivering results. One is chasing validation, the other is building a legacy. In three years no one will remember your viral moment, but everyone will remember whether you were solid or not, whether you were real, whether you could be counted on.
Build the kind of name that means something long after the timeline has moved on. You do this by taking your time. Moving Smart and Stay Free
