Behind the Number

Where you from!?!?!

Today is Friday, October 2nd, 2026. Today’s dinner was chili mac, corn, bread, and cake.

Prison is a horrible place, and it affects everyone differently. Your environment either builds you or breaks you. That goes for any environment. It shapes you. Usually it isn’t dramatic or sudden. It’s slow and invisible, like water carving a rock.

The neighborhood you live in, the people you spend the most time with, the conversations you’re surrounded by, the content you consume, and the energy of the spaces you occupy are all quietly programming your beliefs, your habits, your ambitions, and your limits. You could have all the discipline and all the desire in the world, but if your environment is constantly working against you, it will wear you down over time. This is a fact!

We are all social animals, and we absorb the standards, the behaviors, and the mindsets of the people and places around us without realizing it. This is why the people who make the biggest leaps in their lives are almost always the ones who made a deliberate change in their environment first. They moved, they changed their circle, they stopped going certain places, they started putting themselves in rooms where the standard was higher than what they were used to.

Your environment should challenge you, inspire you, and reflect the version of yourself you are trying to become, not the one you are trying to leave behind. It doesn’t matter if you live in a one-room shack, a mansion, or a jail cell like me. Be sure to audit your surroundings the same way the IRS audits a person’s taxes. Be sure that your environment is working for you, not against you, because there is no middle ground.

Move Smart and Stay Free.
