Sabali is an Advantage

Patience is a virtue! I’ve heard this all my life and even agreed with it without truly understanding what the word virtue meant. I have found two definitions for the word. The first meaning is a good trait, a specific positive quality. So that would make our saying come out as: patience is a good trait. That sounds okay, but not life-changing like the quote meant it to be.

The second definition I found for the word virtue was advantage — an advantage is a useful benefit. So that would mean the famous quote is telling us that patience is an advantage. Now that I could agree with.

In life, especially in places like prisons and jails, having patience — or the lack of it — will cost you. I believe patience has to be more than just a good trait. We need to learn to use it to our advantage, sometimes even as strategy, like in the game of chess. In business, the person with the least patience loses.

If you’ve ever been locked up or done a bid with someone, you know it teaches you patience. But under those circumstances, it’s hard to develop patience. Patience means having the capacity to accept or endure and get through delays and suffering WITHOUT getting ANGRY or UPSET. Now that is a f***ing skill to learn and apply.

Now the quote makes sense to me. Patience is an advantage! Let’s practice this skill for the rest of our living days in order not to get rushed. Take your time out there. Be patient with yourself and others, no matter how f***ing annoying they may be. Be safe and please STAY FREE!
